THEMPLECHILD
FOUNDATION
to improve lifestyle of underprivileged society
At ThempleChild Foundation, we believe that children and youth represent the most valuable investment for any society. They are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also key participants in shaping the present. Guided by this conviction, our foundation is devoted to defending and protecting the rights of vulnerable children and youth, ensuring they have access to the basic necessities of life food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education, and dignity.
Our mission goes beyond charity; it is about institutionalizing justice, protection, and opportunity. By working hand in hand with schools, families, and communities, we reach underserved populations, ensuring that no child or youth is left behind. Every initiative we undertake is legally backed, community-driven, and rooted in compassion, with the long-term goal of building a society where every child and young person can exercise their rights fully and live up to their potential.

We envision a society where children and youth, regardless of their background, enjoy equal opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive. The critical situation of the average Nigerian child and youth marked by poverty, neglect, violence, and lack of access to education is a reality that compels us to act. The cries of these young ones often go unheard, overshadowed by the hustle of daily survival and systemic challenges.
ThempleChild Foundation exists as a response to this outcry. Our vision is to create a nation where the rights of children and youth are recognized, respected, and safeguarded; where schools and communities serve as safe spaces; and where every child is given the tools and support needed to achieve a brighter future.
We are driven by empathy, guided by law, and inspired by the resilience of the young people we serve.
To realize this vision, we are committed to practical, sustainable action in four key areas:
- Public Awareness and Social Campaigns
We lead campaigns to educate parents, teachers, and communities about child and youth rights, protection against abuse, and the importance of education. Through traditional and social media, we amplify voices that demand justice and awareness. - School and Community Outreach
Our primary platform is the school system, where we reach underserved children and youth with programs on rights education, mentorship, health promotion, and welfare support. We also extend these efforts to communities, recreational spaces, and informal settlements. - Coalition and Advocacy
We collaborate with other NGOs, universities, healthcare providers, and government agencies to advocate for systemic change and support vulnerable cases. Partnerships multiply our impact and ensure broader coverage. - Provision of Material and Welfare Support
Recognizing that poverty is a major barrier to education and safety, we provide school supplies, hygiene kits, menstrual products, food, and clothing to children and youth in need.
Through these strategies, we strive to empower children and youth to recognize their worth, pursue education, and develop resilience.
The Nigerian Child Rights Act of 1999 outlines numerous protections for young people. At ThempleChild Foundation, we focus on ensuring that these rights are not just words on paper but lived realities.
- Right to Dignity: Protecting children and youth from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, torture, or inhuman treatment.
- Right to Leisure and Recreation: Creating opportunities for play, sports, cultural expression, and artistic growth.
- Right to Parental Care and Maintenance: Supporting families to provide stable environments while intervening when separation or neglect threatens the child’s welfare.
- Right to Education: Promoting free, compulsory, and universal education, while providing re-entry opportunities for out-of-school children, especially for girls facing early pregnancy or gender-based barriers.
By aligning our programs with these rights, we ensure that legal protection is matched with practical interventions.
Our Goals
- To raise awareness across Nigeria about the rights and needs of children and youth.
- To expand school-based outreach programs into every underserved community possible, making schools central to child protection and youth empowerment.
- To reduce the number of out-of-school children and youth by providing material support, mentorship, and parental engagement.
- To strengthen families and communities so they can serve as protective and nurturing environments.
- To foster partnerships that bring together civil society, education, healthcare, and government in one united front for child and youth welfare.
